Introducing Chuck

Our first calf of the season was born Friday, April 18th. James named him Chuck.

Here he is just 1 day old. He's so tiny and cute!

Spock didn't know who the new guy was.

Is This A Joke?

Seriously, what is up with our weather?! I just acquired a sun burn on Sunday. Then we get a blizzard today? It has been snowing heavily for the past 3 hours. MAKE IT STOP!
I just watched the 10 o'clock news. They said Rigby got 5 inches of snow!

Free Peepers

Somehow we seem to end up with extra animals. We were in CAL Ranch Saturday and they had just received a new shipment of ducklings and chicks. 4 of the ducklings weren't doing very well and the associate had the heat lamp to close to them. So James let her know. She argued a little, then she decided we could take them for free if we thought we could save them. Anything was better than letting her continue to slowly cook them. Of course we said "Yes",very rarely do we say "No". The ducklings were doing much better out of the heat. But unfortunately one was too bad and didn't last. For now they are living in a bird cage in out basement. We don't even know what kind of ducks they are. Just domestic ducks.

I Turned 29!

Yesterday was my 29th Birthday, again. I love how it just keeps repeating. So the day started out nice, but later the weather turned into a blizzard. I received phone calls and emails from family. Of course I had some cake, double chocolate! Dillon saw the cake and said "What? You're not 29!" What does he know.
I made a wish and blew out all the candles, but the snow is still here.

I Am In Love With A McDonald's Girl

I found a few more pictures and a lot of them have Nanette in them. Unfortunately, they tell a sad story. Here is Nan at work.

It paid ok, but not enough for a real home.

Let's not be confused, Nan lived in the Newpaper Donation dumpster and ate at the refuse dumpster. That's one thing she taught me, "Don't sleep where you eat."

And here she is getting ready for a night at the Galleria.

Travel Curse

A weird thing happens whenever I travel. Either we have an animal die or we get a new animal. Example, When I went to Boston James called and said our yellow lab disappeared. When I went to Wichita, James bought a puppy. Another time that I went to Wichita, our Cockatiel died. So when ever I go anywhere I get nervous. This is actually how we ended up with most of our cats. Last spring I went to Little Rock. When James picked me up at the airport, he had 4 sheep in the back of the truck. And it's not just James. When we went to Puerto Vallarta, 2 kittens showed up at our house. We did find out that they belonged to a neighbor and took them back. So, my latest trip was to Oregon to see Michele. Nothing has died in awhile and I thought we were overdue. But luckily, the only thing that ended up dead at our house was a mink coat that James bought at auction. Which is now for sale on Ebay. Curse finally broken!

A few Tidbits of Info

Nan tagged me, and it took me awhile to think of 6-7 things. Here they are...

1. I collect elongated pennies. I have over 700 of them. I have found them at zoo's and grocery stores. I bought some off ebay that are from the Chicago, Paris, St Louis and Seattle Worlds Fairs. I have friends who travel and bring them back for me.

2. I own (and James too) 2 acres of land in Kenai, AK. It's a little scary, because we haven't ever been up there to see it.

3. I had an Emu at Large in Rigby. Someone had given us an emu and he decided to exit our pasture through a barbed wire fence. I figured he was long gone. Three days later the Rigby Police Dept called and asked if we had an emu out. Dang. He was in town about 3-4 miles from our house. I had to hook up the horse trailer and go to where the police were keeping an eye on him in a vacant lot. Everyone was really afraid of Clyde, that was his name. We had no way to corner him, and you can't rope an emu, it will break their neck. So I gave the ok for the policeman to shoot him with a tranquilizer. The cop warned me that it might kill Clyde, at this point I did not care. So the cop shot Clyde, he ran and ran. It had absolutely NO effect on him. So he shot Clyde again. Nothing. Clyde was on the run, so we chased him around town on foot, some kids were on bikes. We had a pretty large group running through the streets. There were people with video cameras out. I was so proud. We finally cornered Clyde in some old ladies back yard and herded him into the trailer. He died later that winter. Jerk.

4. My favorite candy is Tootsie Roll. It's awesome, nobody ever seems to want them when they go trick or treating. So they are happily handed over to me!

5. I was a Maid of Honor in a Lesbian Commitment Ceremony. Sally has been a very good friend of mine for 19 years. I was more than happy to be there for her. That is actually the only time I have been a Maid of Honor.

6. I am a certified Scuba Diver. James and I both got certified when we lived in Florida. I love it! If you love the ocean i recommend it. It's just a little hard to do when you are land locked.

7. Leslie and I had a friendly competition . How many guys can one makeout with? I can't even remember how much time we had. I won. I think. Is that bad? I love this photo.

Okay, Joel, it's your turn to divulge. You too Sally. Let's have it!

Long Lost Friend

I arrived in Salem, OR on Jan 17th. Michele was waiting to pick me up with bells on. We figured out that it's been about 12-13 years since we last saw each other. Way too long!

Of course we did what girls love to do... shop and stay up talking until 4a.m.

What funny is.

It's pretty funny when you spend hours outside putting up Christmas lights, then on Christmas Eve your husband gets the snowblower tangled in not one, but Two extension cords. No lights on Christmas.

Christmas

Another Christmas has come and gone. It was fun, but I'm glad it's done.

Rick and Michelle spent Christmas Eve and Christmas with us.

This is Bekah's favorite holiday. She waits all year for this special day.

Stuart spent a week with us.

Dillon had a few guitar lessons from Grandpa Rick.

Sassy spent her time hangin' by the tree. Ah Christmas.

I Have A 16 Year Old!

Damion turned 16 on December 23rd. He wasn't feeling too well, so we just stayed home. At least he got what he wanted, an electric guitar.

DillonBoBillon Bday

Dillon is now 12. Wow, do I feel old? Um, Not really. Anyway, he spent the day with his 2 best friends, Jordan & Chase. Yes, that is Joel's mask on the left. Um, they begged to wear it! Dillon is in the middle. We took the party to TSR, an indoor go-cart raceway.

Ending the day with cake and ice cream, of course.

Then playing a bit on his new guitar, to relax.
