Sea Turtle Heaven

I finally got a copy of my picture with the female sea turtle that was laying eggs. She is an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle. If you have ever been around Green Sea turtles, these will seem like midgets in comparison. We were so surprised to see her laying at the same time babies were hatching. This is one of the many babies that we saw on the beach. I absolutely love the ocean and almost anything that lives in it. This was such a treat for me!

Here's a batch that just came out of the sand. There is a conservation project that keeps track of the eggs being laid, then surrounds the nest with the wire. They collect the babies and take them to a nursery. They return them to the ocean after a few weeks when they are a little bigger and not as vulnerable.
It was so amazing to see all this. We were in Puerto Vallarta 5 nights and went to see the turtles 4 of those nights.

Dune Buggy Tour

We started out from Puerto Vallarta. The buggy's are actually allowed on city streets! So we ripped through town and headed for the mountains. Everyone was envious of my shirt. I can't blame them.

I felt a little bad driving through the small towns because our buggy's were so loud. We made sure to go slowly through the water in the towns streets. I hope it was water.

This was awesome! I was not prepared to have Mexican river water shoot right into my nose. On the next crossing I made sure to cover my nose and mouth with my hand. James couldn't even see where he was going. These pictures don't do the river crossings justice. Nan would have done a better job for sure.

We were completely soaked. It was actually a little cold in the shade. I know you all feel sorry for me.

This is what awaits you at the end of the road. James is the second guy jumping in.

The Rack Pack

What a blast it was to see you again Leslie! You have a great husband and kids. Thanks again Nan for all the GREAT food. You are such an awesome cook. Carrie and Kenya came to hang out too! Yeah!

Dillon and Christian became pretty good friends in a matter of minutes. It sure was nice of this model to stop and take a picture with them. Oh wait, that's Kenya!

Thankful

I'm thankful that Dillon is better and had his cast taken off today. His arms aren't a matching set anymore. It's amazing what 4 weeks in a cast can do to the muscles. Time for Dillon to work out!

I'm also thankful for my wonderful little family. My boys are the best! We really have a great relationship. I love just hanging out with them. And my husband, WOW, I couldn't ask for a more understanding, loving and devoted husband. I am a lucky girl.

I'm thankful for great friends. New and old, and I don't just mean age. I would be so bored without all of you. You know who you are.
I'm thankful for my parents. You worked so hard for so many years. You took great care of me and formed who I am.
I'm thankful for good health. I love life and want to experience so much more.

Vrrrrrrrrooooooooommmmmmmm

Since our Dodge truck was stolen and needs extensive work done, we decided to get a new one. Here is James, the proud new owner. We got a great deal on this truck. It's a 2006 Ford F-150 crew cab Triton Edition. Oh, it has all the bells and whistles i.e. moon roof, climate control, heated leather seats, keyless entry. James gets giddy just thinking about driving it. It's his dream truck. Hope he makes this one last awhile.

My Cool Neighbor

So my neighbor came over last night. He said he had something for me. I was worried that it was alive. People seem to think we are a drop off for unwanted animals. So he went to his truck and pulled out a spider! He welds a lot and makes all kinds of decorations. He made a bunch of these spiders and gave me one since I always decorate our yard for Halloween. How nice is that! I love it! Thanks Jeff!

Veet Night 2007

Ok, somehow I managed to screw this one up. oops

State #27 Wisconsin

I went to visit Sally and Monica in Rockford, IL over the weekend. They were nice enough to take me to Wisconsin, so I could check another state off my list. Did you know that you can buy fireworks year round in Wisconsin? Little bit of trivia for you all.
We ate at some great restaurants. I have never eaten as much as I did at the Parthenon.OPA!! Wonderful Greek food. I was so stuffed I thought I might just throw up. I really over did it!

We went to the Shedd Aquarium

and Navy Pier in Chicago.Unfortunately I didn't take pictures, my camera battery was dead and I wasn't smart enough to replace it. Oh well, i'll be back later! Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, some of the skyscrapers, including the Sears Tower, had pink lights at the top. Very nice! Save the Ta-Tas!

The House

Just for good measure, a picture of my cute guard dog, Bekah. Doesn't she look good in fall colors?

Now I don't have to take any photos with me to Chicago. Right Sal?
Oh yeah, here's the before.

Master Bath

Before, just a toilet and sink. The master bedroom used to be a family/bonus room.

One little snag along the way. We removed the old sink, Tobasco went in through the drain pipe hole. He didn't fit so well on the way back out, twisting and turning till he was upside down.

Main Bathroom Before & After

This is the water damage on the floor. We had to replace some of the subfloor.

I Am An ENFJ

The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed.
Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.
Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down.
You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.
However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud http://www.blogthings.com/whatsyourpersonalitytypequiz/

More Gas? Yes Please!

What do leg hair and gasoline have in common? Oh, they both burn. Just ask James. He decided to put a LOT of gas on some branches and boxes to start the fire faster. When he squatted down to light it with a lighter, he was engulfed in a huge ball of flames. Luckily he didn't catch fire and he jumped over the fence into the horse trough full of water. James' right arm and leg look fabulous without hair. Forget the Veet. As if it wan't enough to burn himself, James then started burning trails of gunpowder on the ground. Oh yeah, he really did.

Left leg, hair
Right leg, not so much

It's About Dirt

James in the skid steer loader.

We got about 65 yards of dirt to finish backfilling around our house. James had a hay day moving it all around and sloping it off.

Now we just need a sprinkler system installed and hydro-seeded before winter. I was hoping this would get done before too much rain or snow. No such luck, it
rained a lot today. Boys love mud.
.
Ok Joel, your turn!
